- Nippon Kayaku Code of Business Conduct
In order to abide by the Nippon Kayaku Action Charter, we have established the following Nippon Kayaku Code of Business Conduct that all of our executives and employees act in accordance with.
Code of Business Conduct for Business Activities
(Quality Assurance)
- 1. We endeavor to develop and improve safe products on the basis of scientific data, and shoulder the responsibility for the quality of our products.
(Provision of Product Information)
- 2. We consistently provide the information necessary for the appropriate use and handling of products for our customers and correspondents.
(Fair and Impartial Business)
- 3. We conduct fair and impartial business with all of our customers and correspondents in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
(Contribution, Exchange of Gifts, and Entertainment)
- 4. We occasionally exchange gifts and entertain our customers and correspondents on the basis of mutually beneficial business customs and socially accepted ideas in accordance with related laws and regulations.
(Priority of Ethics)
- 5. We invariably give priority to ethics rather than to the company's profits during situations when these two aspects are in conflict with each other.
(Prohibition of Pursuing Individual Profits)
- 6. We do not pursue individual profits by unfairly taking advantage of the position in the company.
(Overseas Activities)
- 7. We act in compliance with domestic and foreign laws and regulations, further our interactions with different cultures, and respect various customs and conventions in our international business activities.
(Protection and Utilization of the Company's Assets)
- 8. We protect the company's assets such as intellectual property, and we endeavor to enhance our corporate value by effectively utilizing the assets.
(Improvement of Business)
- 9. We constantly endeavor to pursue employee training and reform ourselves so as to improve our business operations.
(Correspondence to Antisocial Forces and Organizations)
- 10. We have a stringent attitude against antisocial forces and organizations and do not consider unreasonable and illegal demands in cooperation with related organizations and departments.
Code of Business Conduct for the Relationship with the Society
(Contribution to the Society)
- 1. We endeavor to contribute to the society through participation and aid in volunteering and social welfare activities.
(Interaction with Local Communities)
- 2. We endeavor to positively participate in local communities and their events as a member of the local society in order to enhance our understanding of our coexistence with them.
(Disclosure of Information)
- 3. We consistently disclose corporate information such as the business policy and financial data to customers, shareholders, investors, employees, and correspondents according to the company procedures.
(Emergency Response System)
- 4. We exhaustively perform safety operations for our business activities. In cases of accidents or disasters, we will provide necessary information to the related organizations and take the required measures on the basis of the previously established emergency response system.
(Prevention of Insider Trading)
- 5. We do not partake in the trading of securities such as corporate stocks using undisclosed information.
(Coexistence with the Environment)
- 6. We positively assess the environmental impact of our business activities, focus on the conservation of resources and energy, and endeavor to achieve technological improvements in order to sustain a rich and healthy society in harmony with nature.
(Environmental Conservation)
- 7. We observe relevant laws, regulations, agreements, and internal rules aimed at environment conservation.
Code of Business Conduct for Handling of Corporate Information
(Respect for the Rights of Others)
- 1. We recognize the value of information assets, respect the rights of others, and do not acquire and utilize them by unfair means.
(Protection of Corporate Information)
- 2. We protect corporate information according to the internal rules. In case of information disclosure, we follow the internal rules, regardless of whether the employee is presently working or has retired.
(Protection of Personal Information)
- 3. We ethically acquire personal information. In case of using personal information, we judiciously handle it according to the Personal Information Protection Law and the Nippon Kayaku Personal Information Protection Policy.
(Handling of Information Processing and Network Systems)
- 4. We appropriately and effectively use our computer system, internal information processing system, and network system, and do not use them for improper purposes.
Code of Business Conduct for the Relationship between the Company and Individuals
(Conservation of Work Environment)
- 1. We conform to labor-related laws and secure a safe, clean, positive, and friendly work environment.
(Respect for Human Rights and Privacy)
- 2. We respect individual human rights and privacy, and do not unreasonably discriminate against individuals on the basis of their sex, religion, race, physical disability, etc.
Subjects for the Code of Business Conduct
The subjects for the Action Standards shall be all of the executives and employees of Nippon Kayaku.
Action against Noncompliance
Executives and employees of Nippon Kayaku who breach the Action Standards may be punished according to the work regulations and related laws.
